Based on this idea user should first use ALL METAL operation mode. Rotate DISC/TONE counter-clockwise to set the unit to ALL METAL position. In this case don't set the sensitivity to high position. Medium position is recommended. Then hold the search coil 1m or more above the ground. Hold down the TRACE button and rotate the GND BAL to area P. Then release TRACE button. Hold the unit with the search coil 2~5cm above the ground.
