Summary: Amazing Detector 2010-05-03

Comment: This detector is simply amazing. I give it 5 stars. Instead of the normal Beeps you get on other machines, which makes pinpointing so hard, this gives you a longer signal which helps you lock onto the target easier and quicker, and 100% of the time it's in the middle hole of the coil. I can't believe I haven't used this machine before now.

Comment: I have been playing w/my new Tesoro Silver uMax for about a month now. It does take a learning curve as without the digital electronics like the Garrett Ace, it does not tell you what metal you have hit. I have dug many a soda can even after discriminating out everything but quarters and pennies, but that is part of the learning aspect. All in all, I love this unit. I did lots of research before buying and must say that it is a wonderful machine. I know I will get better with practice so I can only get even more pleased! You really learn to "listen" to this detector, which to me, is better than relying on a digital output.
