Our new and improved StreetWise metal detector is just as sensitive yet lighter then most other metal detectors. It is designed for use by law-enforcement officers and security personnel to quickly detect even the smallest metal weapons. It is sensitive enough to detect a handgun or knife from six inches away. With its large detection area you can do a fast yet thorough scan. The lightweight design and comfortable handle makes it easy to use for long periods of time. With its adjustable sensitivity this metal detector is ideal for use in airports, schools, prisons, sporting events, etc. It has both audible and vibration alert so it can be used in situations with loud noise such as concerts or nightclubs. It is powered by either a 9 volt battery (not included) and features a low battery power indicator. It includes a hand strap and holster with belt loop. The metal detector measures approximately 15 and one-half inches x three and one-eighth inches x one and three-eighth inches.

This machine seems to work well for large metallic objects. For its intended use of detecting guns/knives it would probably be quite good and at a reasonable price. However, I bought it hoping to find nails and metal bits in wood. It finds nails well, but couldn't detect a staple on the surface of the board, so do not buy it for this purpose.

I gave it 4 stars because I feel it could be more sensitive and the sensitivity knob seems to do nothing.
