This review is from: Metal Detector With LCD Display Ok, so I had a metal detector from RadioShack about 30 years ago. It was cheap and fun to use and of course didn't cost very much ($25). Now recently I did a lot of research trying to compare features & prices on & off for a couple of months. This unit surpassed what I was looking for and that includes the price. Now having said all that I haven't used it yet but if it works as advertised, for me, it will be near perfect. Check out it's features! It can detect metal objects as deep as 4 feet! It discriminates visually via the LCD screen & sound when it detects different metals and you can select which metals you want to search for and it will ignore the rest. The 'round coil' is water proof so you can walk around in ankle deep/knee deep water searching for metal objects.
