Junior Digital Metal Detector Kit

Comment: I bought this for my nephew last Christmas. He hasn't used it more than once. He can't get it to detect anything. I brought it out again this weekend to see if I had any better luck. I tried it with nails in a board. It would detect it once, but I would move away and come back five seconds later and it wouldn't pick it up again. I threw a coin on the ground and even knowing the general spot, couldn't find it. When you set the sensitivity knob higher than halfway, it's just a constant tone. And any lower than that and it doesn't detect anything. To even get a detection I had to set it just below the constant tone spot, but even then, after a minute, it would switch to the constant tone. The one I bought for my niece for less than half works better than this one. Maybe I got a dud, but I can't recommend this detector to anyone. It was a waste of money and a dissapointment as a Christmas gift.

Comment: My son was not too please with this metal detector. I tucked the 5-6 metal discs that come with the set in the blades of grass for him to find, and we were only able to find 2 of them. It is not sensitive enough for the impatience of an active boy. I think I'm going to send it back.

Comment: My son asked for a metal detector for Christmas and I came across this one. I thought having the case with it was a good idea to keep all parts together when not in use.

It looked bigger in the photo but when it arrived it was in a small box. I opened it and looked inside the case. All the pieces are in tact and look nice. This is a hand held metal detector.Very small. But it should do it's job. Not sure if it works great yet for it's a Christmas Present but we will see.

Comment: We purchased this for our son for Christmas...it's a great little metal detector. he has had a lot of fun with it and so have we! It has good settings for fine tuning your searches and teaches the younger set how to really dig for treasure. It's a good toy - we should get much use of it.
