Metal detecting without a pro pointer is time consuming, especially when you have a small target. The pinpointing function works well, you can also fine tune it by turning it on/off close to the target to get a better indication of position.
Instead of taking several minutes trying to find what in the hole this reduces the time frame to less then a minute with shallow targets in the ground. You can use the pro pointer just by itself by running it over the ground surface, anything under the surface within a few inches will give a reading. I found a few coins doing this just to test the effectiveness of this product. There is nothing worse then digging a hole and not finding your target, with this you'll find it. A great product from Garrett.

This gadget is a must have for relic hunting. Don't think twice, just get it. How many times have you started digging and then had to stand up again and make 1-2 more passes with your detector because you can't find the dang coin? Those days will be over for you, you need this.
