Bounty Hunter QD2GWP Quick Draw II Metal Detector with Pinpointer and Carry Bag

Comment: As soon as I received my Bounty Hunter QD2GWP Quick Draw II metal detector I took it in my backyard just to test it, I got hits on some obvious junk metal like nails, bottle caps, within 5 minutes I got a coin tone & dug up a brass medallion from 1948 about 5 to 6 inches down, I was very impressed, I didn't really expect to find anything back there. The only disappointment is the gold has the same sound as junk metal, I really wanted a detector that distinctly identified gold. I haven't been able to play with the setting much so I'll see if I can phase out the junk metal so it only detects the gold (it does say in the instructions you can) overall a good detector for the money.

Comment: I have owned detectors before (20 years ago)and find this one to be simple to operate, it's very light-weight, and respondes very well. It is perfect for the first-timer or someone like me getting back into searching for treasures. Also a good teaching tool for the younger generation.

Comment: With this being my first metal detector, I really didn't know what to expect. WOW was I surprised. It took me one time through my backyard to become addicted to "hunting". I now have my wife, 8 year old daughter and six year old son joing me every trip hoping to find some "treasure".
Most of what we have found have been coins and old nails, but have come across and old metal water jug from the 1930's and what appears to be an old metal button.
The machine is lightweight, has great instructions and if you just play around with it yourself, you will fine your own setting. Every "hit" I've come across has yeilded results. The pinpointer at first I thought was a waste, but now that I understand how to use it has become indispensible. Highly recommende for the price and enjoyment it will give you. Happy Hunting!!!

Comment: I would not recommend getting this product save up a little bit longer and go for the garret ace 250. Its a great beginner. I have the ace 250 and Ive already found about $10.00 in change a couple cool little items and also the junk you really can not avoid. So defiantly wait a little longer and get the garret ace 250.

Comment: I did quite a lot of research before buying on all kinds and all prices of metal detectors. I found that for the price, the Quick Draw 2 had the options we wanted. I have been most pleased with this machine... if it tells me there is a coin..there is a coin. It has not been wrong yet. Batteries wear well. I haven't had to change them in over a month and we use it a lot on the week ends, and some through the week. I would definitely recommend it. We have found numerous coins with it, and it has been great for us!
