Summary: Great for kid explorers 2010-04-20
Comment: I bought this for my 8-year-old granddaughter. I "seeded" her yard with coins, old jewelry, etc. so she had great fun finding old treasures. The detector is easy for her to operate, and because she is small, the fact that the length is adjustable is very important. it was a big hit, and she will be taking it to the beach this summer. I highly recommend this.

Comment: This is a great little gift to give your young daughter or son! I gave this dectector to my 6 year old daughter for Christmas, so she could hunt for treasure just like daddy does with his metal detector. Kids love treasure hunting and this product proved to be just the right size for little ones. It also functioned well and was easy for her to learn how it worked. I'd recommend it for anyone seeking to find a great gift that will provide years of outdoor activity and fun. It's educational, fun, and is a product they can use alone or as a family/group activity. I give the Bounty Hunter Junior Size Metal Detector 5 stars!
